I Have a Dream…It’s called…Pitch Your Team

3/12/10

Remember a few weeks back I did an entry about Robert Harmon and his girlfriend Bennie who rolled their VW Bus named “Jim Morrison” in New Mexico?

Here are a few pictures in case you missed it or forgot. DSC_8363a.jpg

DSC_8437a.jpg

                                                   Not a pretty sight.

Both walked away virtually unharmed. “Jim” however was wee bit f’cked up. Once the bus was turned upright Robert was able to get “Jim” running and hobbled him back to Colorado…Amazing.

I visited Robert shortly before he left for Rockies Spring Training in Tucson and was amazed at how much better “Jim” looked. Most of the dents were banged out and he had replaced the windshield.

I received an email from Robert this morning that contained a few pictures from Tucson and more importantly Hi-Corbet Field and the Rockies.

Below is a shot of ‘Jim” looking all pretty. Well..Ok here’s a shot of “Jim” in front of Hi-Corbett Field. A testament to a well built automobile and a cheap thrifty VW bus lover.

Jim Morrison.jpg

Props to Robert for making it out there and representing..And for sending these pictures for us to check out. With a little luck, I’ll have my VW bus ready to roll, by Spring Training 2011.

Game 2 Final Score 4-1 Rockies win. Temperature 45 degrees…Brrrthe end of game two.jpg

So as far as Spring Training goes if you’re a baseball fan it’s not how you get there it’s just that you get there.

If I was there yesterday I would have had to watch that painful 9-2 loss to the Giants who seem to have everybodys number lately…Go figure…The Giants…WTF?

I have an idea…Sort of a “Pitch Your Team” mini-commercial.

I mentioned in a blog entry a while back how I thought it would be a cool idea to let MLBloggers do little promotional spots on MLB TV to promote their team. You know what I mean…Those little 5-10 second clips where they say “I’m so and so and your watching such and such”.

MLBloggers could do the same thing..Like…Mine might be something like..”I’m D the Rockpile Ranter and this is Rockies Country“..I would never use something quite that dorky but you get what I’m saying.

Participants could do this clip however they wanted…and it would be judged here on the Rant by a voting poll inserted into an entry.

Or…Maybe someone from MLBlogs.com would be interested in judging the entries?

Time to let your team loyalty and personal creativity shine. There is absolutely no promises that MLB will/would ever use these video clips but you never know right?

Show the world and your Team what you’ve got. I’m gonna let this contest run for a while..At least until the All-Star Break. That way everyone will have time to get their ideas together and maybe shoot some footage from their favorite ballpark to include in the video clips.

I think it would be cool to have two contests.

One for MLBloggers and one for readers of the Rockpile Rant. The winners will each win an autographed ball and mini-bat from various Colorado Rockies.
Remember folks these do not have to be Rockies video clips.

YOUR VIDEO SHOULD SUPPORT YOUR TEAM.

Let me know if you’re interested in participating in Pitch Your Team.

I think this could be fun.

Before you see, send me your best RV

2/20/09

As I look out my window it’s about 20 degrees outside and it’s snowing. In my mind it’s 78 degrees with a few small clouds in the sky and I’m rubbing aloe vera on yesterday’s sunburn.

Hey, help me out here. You know how I’ve been doing the “This is not the Mobile Blog Unit” thing for the last six months. I’ve officially exhausted my source of wacky RV pictures.

So for fun, if you have a few spare minutes see if you can find an RV picture that I haven’t used yet, make it a good one and e-mail it to therockpileranter@yahoo.com.

I want to do a blog entry of everyone’s RV choices. Then at the end of it I’ll show you the REAL Mobile Blog Unit. If you send me a RV picture I’ve already used I’ll let you know.

If you read this blog and you’ve never commented before, here’s your chance to shine. This is a creative group here don’t let me down. Hit me with your best RV picture.

If you’d like, you can name your RV picture.

I ready y’all, fresh haircut and a beard trim. The final walk through of the MBU is complete all systems are go. I feel like I’m on the verge of something really special.

Despite being smart and incredibly good looking, I’m not a wealthy man. It’s taken me all year to save for this spring training blogging extravaganza and it has been on my mind since my drive back from spring training in Tucson last season.

think about it.jpg

How often does a guy get ten days off with no wife, kids or responsibilities to go watch baseball. I’ve spent my whole life living vicariously through other people.

For ten days you can live vicariously through me. Unlike television and water I’m still free.

Come along for the ride in the MBU, you get the couch and don’t try and use the bathroom when were rolling :) …DThumbnail image for Thumbnail image for Thumbnail image for Thumbnail image for Thumbnail image for Thumbnail image for Thumbnail image for Green Floppy Hat.JPG

Making RockpileRant.com the bomb

2/18/09

I haven’t written anything in a couple of days and it feels like an eternity.

Rockies spring training15.jpgSpring Fever has officially got me along with a little bit of a bug.

fever1.jpgIt’s hard to talk or write about baseball right now, I feel like sheet and mentally I’m in Tucson right now.

Let me tell you the weather is beautiful and I’m working on a good tan.

A friend of mine Betsy has been working on www.rockpilerant.com. Right now It’s just a cover page that links back to this blog, but I’m thrilled that it’s finally up and accessible.

I would like a permanant page within that website that contains all of the “Rockies Fan Profiles”, maybe a page with videos and a baseball collection page which will get updated weekly as new items are acquired.

Got any ideas, I’d love to hear them?

I’m more than ready and the Rant holds steady

2/15/09

Rockile Rant stands it’s ground as the number 5 fan blog on MLBLogs.com

So does that make the Rockpile Rant the Number 1 Rockies Blog in the World??

                                                OH HELL YEAH !

1. Confessions of a She-Fan
2. Julia’s Rants
3. Red State Blue State
4. Eat, Sleep, Baseball
5. Rockpile Rant

Thanks to my regular readers for your support for this past year. Remember the Rant during spring training.

As I prepare for this upcoming trip and season I will post a link to some of my favorite snagging entries from last season… One of my Fav’s

Joe and me 2-14-091.jpg

I took a trip to Colorado Springs yesterday to visit an old Army buddy.

Meet Joe Smith..aka Miles Long.

He developed the Miles Long alter-ego after years of people not believing his real name when he told it to them.

There are a lot of Joe Smiths out there but this one is the real deal.

Joe and I were in the Army together and worked together at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs after we finished our tours.

I wanted “Miles Long” to come to Tucson with us but he has schedule conflicts and can’t make it this year.

QUESTION: If you had the most popular name in America like Joe does, what “secondary name/alter ego” would you come up with for yourself?

I’m not sure what I’ve gotten myself into over at  Mets Main Man. But I can tell you I’ve finished my first assignment. I love a good adventure and at this point I have no idea whatsoever what this dude is up to but I’m going to roll with in anyway.

The Real MBU-Not.jpgToday I’m working on my final Banner for the Moblie Blog Unit.

(The moment you’ve all been waiting for…This is NOT the MBU)

Meanwhile,… Andy my co-pilot for the spring training/MBU adventure sliced open his finger open right by his knuckle while attempting to sharpen a knife.

He received eight stitches in this glove hand.

The way the healing process works it looks like the stitches will need to be removed around game two at Hi Corbett. A real man removes his own stitches, it’s cheaper.

It’s time for another edition of:

                                         “Which Rockie Am I”

Which Rockie Am I.jpg                     Today’s Rockies Player was born west of Colorado in the 70’s.

He’s exactly the same size as me.

He was paid less than a million dollars for last season.

He’s in one of last year’s Rockies commericals.

                                                     That’s it…Good Luck

Duck1.jpg

Again I just want to thank the folks who frequent the Rant. I can’t tell you how much I enjoy seeing Rockies blogs in the Top 50. Props to all MLBLoggers for what you do.

My mission is to promote my team and get them some respect and it’s working thanks to you.

Living the dream as I blog for my team

2/12/09

Hunters first Rockies game1.jpgYou can tell it’s getting close, everyone is eager to talk baseball and share their autograph and collection stories. The idea in my last blog entry was “You pick the topic” and I’ll write about it. Most of you chose to ask questions of me. I guess I didn’t take that into consideration.

(<—-Hunter and his Grandpa at his first Rockies game in 1999).

You could have picked any topic besides me, but I’ll roll with this. I’ll answer them all in time. I still have ten days before I’m blogging at the high speed of 65 MPH

This one is from Jere80 (he responded first):

“I’m always interested in how people become fans of teams that didn’t exist when they were young, and therefore what team they grew up rooting for before their current team existed. So maybe you could tell us that about yourself?

Jere, my story is different from most. I was a Yankee fan until my parents moved us up to Canada at age 11 (1978). There was really no organized baseball in my High School and I would have to say most of our Schools budget was spent on indoor sports (mostly hockey), because of the sub-zero (at times) temperatures.

So my exposure to baseball of any sort was severely limited. Remember there was no internet back in the late 70’s early 80’s.

Edmonton_Eskimos logo.jpg
Oilers logo.gifSo I grew up with no affiliation to any baseball team.

As a kid I followed the Edmonton Eskimos in the CFL, and it was cool living in the same Province as Wayne Gretzky back when he was an Edmonton Oiler and in his prime.

I don’t really follow hockey anymore but in my opinion it’s still the best sport to see live .

army cook apron.jpgWhen I finished my Military service I decided to stay in Colorado. It was a that point I knew I was going to be a Bronco and later on down the road, a Rockies fan.

balanced rock11.jpg(<—-Balanced Rock inside the Garden of the Gods where Krista and I were married).

I fell in love with Colorado and it would be hard for me to support a team that I couldn’t see play at least every now and then.

Plus, what a nickname..”The Blake Street Bombers” as a former military guy I love that name.

The Broncos, Rockies and later the Nuggets worked out perfect for me at the time, and all within an hours drive.

So as you can see I became a Rockies fan well into my adulthood. Going to a Rockies game to me is like reliving a part of my childhood that I missed due to geographical location. I’m a kid again from the second I walk through those gates. I don’t get that from anything else in the world.

The Rockpile Ranter was born because of the lack of respect the Rockies received during their amazing World Series run. I attended my first game as the Rockpile Ranter March of last year in Tucson. I’ve been on a Rant ever since…

JERE-I’ve come up with another segment of the Rant that I’m going to call:

                                              WHICH ROCKIE AM I ?

I’ll give you some interesting facts about a player (should you choose to accept this challenge), and you will have to figure out who it is.

As always, whoever wins send me your picture and I’ll make you famous…D

MB 11.jpgThis Rockie is well over six feet tall.

He played basketball in High School.

<—-This guy has something to do with the naming of his this player’s High School.

 He’s a switch hitter….This one’s easy..Good Luck !

JERE, thanks for “Deciding the Ride” today.

In celebration of pitchers and catchers officially getting back to work, I’ve included in this entry:

My first blog entry ever. It’s from Rockies spring training last year.

Just looking at it makes me think of all that has happened in the last year. WOW…Thanks for being a part of it…D

Matt Holliday almost tags me with a ball

March 25, 2008

I was shooting a video at Spring Training of Matt Holliday when he hit the ball foul off of the first base line and I had no idea that it was coming right at me.

 It just missed me.

I didn’t even get the baseball. I hope my snagging improves.

Here’s a picture of Todd Helton with Tulo in the background.

Ok the picture sucks but it shows you how close I was. The top of the Rockies dugout was just below this fence.

See what I was saying about the fence.

Gorgeous day, it was 85 and the first warm weather I had seen in months.

Man I dig Tucson..I can’t wait to go back next year. I’ll be better prepared. Here was my video for my wife as I was driving home from Tucson.

It’s amazing what a guy with a love of baseball and a need to vent can do in just one year. Just you wait, the best is yet to come.

                                           Go Rockies…I’m almost there…D

tucson sky.jpgIf you’ve been following this blog you know, I’m already in Tucson. I’ve been there for two weeks now (in my mind). Nothing can stop this trip.
The best part is the guys that I’m going with are as excited as I am.
rspeier1121.jpgRyan Speier accepted me as a friend on Facebook today. Ryan was my third Rockies autograph ever and he signed for me on autograph day last spring training.
Ryan gave Zack Hample his glove a few years back and I remember Zack mentioning in his blog that the glove was this most prized gift from a player.
I want all the Rockies pitchers to have a good season but I’m really pulling for Speier and toe_dipping.jpgMorales.

Both of these guys have dipped their toes in the big league and I’d like to see both of them “take the plunge” so to speak.

Here’s a new segment I’m going to call “Ranters question of the day”.
Todays question…I guess I’m what you could call a collecter. What do you collect? What is your most prized posession and would you ever sell it?Thumbnail image for Thumbnail image for Thumbnail image for Thumbnail image for Thumbnail image for Thumbnail image for Thumbnail image for Thumbnail image for Thumbnail image for Thumbnail image for Thumbnail image for Thumbnail image for Thumbnail image

Chill pill.jpg
I try to live my life on an even keel. I shy away from extreme highs or Thumbnail image for balanced-life111.jpglows. I prefer a middle of the road type of existance.

I breeze through life not trying to upset any more people than I make happy.

It’s my version of balance.

My point is this: Things are good with me right now, really good. This blog “The Rockpile Rant”, came in at number five. For months now I have managed to stay in the top ten. Thank you regular readers, Rockies fans and other bloggers.

I can’t explain it. I love the fact that a simple, mildly opinionated, good looking guy like me can rival some of the best bloggers out there.

I put a lot of work into my blog, (because I’m NOT a writer). If I was a writer this stuff would come a lot easier to me.

Happy to see you 1.jpgThis is what I am,…I’m a reality blogger with a passion for baseball. With your help I’ve carved a niche here at MLBlogs that I plan to keep strong hold of.

I’ll keep reading yours, you keep reading mine. Together we’ll all get smarter.

I’m friendly competitive sort of guy, but competitive nonetheless. I’m sure you’ve gathered that by now.

There are numerous ways to plug your blog and get page hits. Mark Newman has his J-Blog School up and running which is a wonderful thing..

HOWEVER, you can be the best writer in the world, but how will anyone know it if they don’t get to witness your amazing writing skills?

blog cartoon.jpgOnce the Rant hits number one and decends, I’ll give a class on “How to drive traffic to your blog.”

My ideas will be fresh and not a repeat of the same thing…because I’m cool like that.

Have I mentioned that I will have constantly updated material each day when the MBU is in Tucson?

That means that everytime you check-in with the Rant there will be something new there to see and read..all of it,… free to you.

atkins mets.jpgI’ll be keeping you juiced up with a big fat syringe of steady pictures and storyline. I hope you’ll visit
the Rant often during my ten days down there.

I’m glad the Rockies avoided an arbitration hearing and locked in Garrett Atkins for another year. Congrats Garrett on snagging 7.05  million.

Just don’t forget to keep those RBI’s flowing.

Matt Murton.jpg

It looks like the Rockies have added another outfielder to the mile high mix.

Say goodbye to Cory Wimberly (a Minor League infielder) and say hello to Matt Murton.

The Rockies acquired Matt from the Oakland A’s, before the A’s he was a Cub

Now we’ve got a whole bunch of outfielders and only three positions. Spring training is going to be everything I expect and then some.

Battle it out dudes,… that’s what it’s all about.

The Rockies Major League roster is now full. Let the games begin y’all…D

Plenty to do in the MBU

2/2/09

DSCN5821.JPG

DSCN5825.JPGHere’s the Ranter shirt that I ordered.

This is how it showed up.

I have had the worst luck with lettering. I loved the T-Shirt but if you step back a few feet the Rockpile Ranter becomes difficult to read.

Rule # 1 with a Ranter shirt: The lettering has to be large enough to be visible on television.

I wrote the business owner and told him that I wasn’t unhappy, I just wondered why he had spaced the letters so close together.

The gentleman wrote me back and said that he would have needed to use two transfer sheets to do that and the auction clearly stated that only one sheet was used for the lettering. He also informed me about how he was tired of people using their feedback on him as hostage.

I wrote back again and informed him that retaliation wasn’t my intent. I was just asking in case I ever wanted purchase another one of these T-Shirts. I gave the man positive feedback and left it at that.

About a week later I received a package in the mail. I opened it up and look what I found inside:
RPR Tshirt 1.jpgNot only did he make me another shirt just the way I wanted, he made me two of them. NO CHARGE. That was cool. See how well you can read this lettering?

Thank you Mr T-Shirt dude? You sir have a loyal customer.

Couple.jpg

Anybody want the first shirt? I’ll give it to you, but you have to hand out my Ranter cards when people say “What the hell is a Rockpile Ranter? Believe me…it happens.

In case your wondering on the status of the letter “P” from a previous entry? I have returned all of the letters for a refund. They couldn’t get it right after three times and Dan convinced me that the quality of the lettering was crap and that I could do better elsewhere.

Great Superbowl yesterday (at least the 4th quarter). I had predicted Cardinals over Steelers 24-21.

Had they ended the game a few minutes early I’d have been damn close at 23-20, oh well.

thanks a bunch baseballs.gif

Thank you for your kind comments on the John Breaux entry.

The public outpouring of support for this man has been unbelievable. John literally touched thousands of people. I haven’t had anything “hit me” like this particular tragedy has in a long time.

Apparently I’m not the only one, not by a longshot. The cities of Louisville and Lafayette are still grieving.

Twenty days till the MBU makes it’s rolling blogging debut. New additions to the MBU will be a meat smoker (for smoking ribs and chicken), and Andy will be bringing his RockBand for the Wii.

Jealous yet? Remember,…. we still have an opening, but much like E Harmony, we have a 100 question compatibility test. gauging you on all different levels.

Most importantly can you sing? If I’m on drums and Andy is on guitar…we’ll need a singer.

Couch potato12.jpgBut hey, sit at home and don’t go…just gives us more room and I get your plate of ribs.

Relax,…if you’re not up for a “Road Trip” dont fret, You know my coverage of “Rockies Spring Training 2009″ is going to be Bullitzer worthy.

MLB Network eat your heart out on this one. You may have your makeup, cameras and writers, but what you don’t have is a fan’s perspective.

That’s me…Keep’n it real.NOt the MBU 234.jpg

Twenty five, until my little drive

Not MBU 1-29-09.gif(<—This is not the Moblile Blogging Unit)

Twenty-five days until the Mobile Blogging Unit reaches mobile blogability. I hope I don’t have any internet connectivity issues whilst I’m mobily blogging.

Congrats to Ubaldo Jimenez. The Rockies signed him to a four year deal worth 10 million and it’s loaded with all kinds of performance incentives.

The Rockies need Ubaldo to stay healthy this season.

JFFG.jpgWho knows if Jeff Francis will be starting in April. He’s still having issues with that pesky shoulder of his.

Cook, Jimenez, Marquis, who’s the Top Dog if Francis is injured and can’t start off the season?

Is Francis still the Top Dog even if he’s healthy?

I wish I could be in Tucson mid-February to see the pitchers and catchers report. I keep hoping for a last minute surprise in the Rockies bullpen, but at this point I wouldn’t bet on it.

It does get me to thinking, “Who among the Rockies bullpen is ready to take it to the next level?”

UJ.jpgMy moneys on Ubaldo, but I still have high hopes of Francis returning to his past glory. Cook is a powerful weapon but tends to wear thin with too much usage.

MannyRamirez u neverknow.jpgGuess we’ll begin to see in a couple of weeks.

I wish we had somebody new to get excited about.

I wonder how Manny Ramirez would do at this altitude? Manny in a Rockies uniform, now that would be a sight. I’d take Manny for a season. The guy has spark there is no denying that.

troy-tulowitzki1-29-09.jpg

I have big hopes for Tulo this season which starts off with him not having any major injuries.

It’s time for this dude to make his mark with the Rockies.

You want to be leader of this team Tulo, show us what you got brotha, and do it all season.

I really believe this is going to be his breakout year.

Tulowitzki healthy and producing all season long is a good thing for the Rockies.

And a good thing for the fans.

IS1-29-09.jpgIan Stewart, here’s another guy bursting at the seams with talent and waiting for everything to click.

Thumbnail image for spilborghs1-29-09.jpgRyan Spilborghs, recently married. Happy wife = happy life. This dude should have the season of his life. He’s earned a starting position and I want to see him keep it all season and become a permanant fixture in the outfield.

Andy 9-15-08.JPGMan I love talking/writing baseball.

I need some warm weather and a break from the stresses of life.

cactus_baseball_1-29-09.jpg I’ve earned this little baseball vacation. I still have a spot on the MBU available. No worries here if it doesn’t get filled. Right now it’s Andy, Robert and yours truely.

(<——Andy snaggin at Rockies batting practice)

If all goes his way Robert will be staying in Tucson when Andy and I head back to Denver.

Someday I’ll be able to do that. When I retire it’ll be summers in Colorado and down to Arizona for Fall Ball and Spring Training.

           You’ve got to stay busy.

Thank you all for the great comments on my last entry on concerts.

Thanks for stopping by the Rant and reading my filler. I’m no Joe Torre but everyone has a story

1/26/09

Wow how time flies, I was looking at the old blog entry count and noticed that this entry is number 199 for the Rockpile Rant.

Notice: It looks like one of my buddies who was going to Tucson with us has to cancel. If your interested in this trip contact me. As I’ve said before there would be an interview process (to guage your coolness), but we’re not too picky.

The travel dates are from Feb 23-March 4.

Chapter 1:  A Ranter is born.

Baby D .jpgI’m going to tell you how the Rockpile Ranter was born. My alter ego is a combination of several things. I’ll start with the Ranter bit. For most of my life I have had to be subordinate to someone who at some point took their power to far or was just a complete jackass with their authority.

I always felt compelled to bottle up what I wanted to say or how I felt, either out of respect or position. It’s not that I was afraid to say what was on my mind, I kept my mouth shut because it was usually the smart thing to do at the time.

Then when I reached the point when I was ready to “speak my mind”, I didn’t because I didn’t want to hurt anyone. Truth be told, the one who was hurting was myself.

Every person and situation is unique and before I became a blogger, I would vent on friends and family. Not the full out explode in your face vents, but smaller more manageable vents. What I would call ” a short little rant”.

They would often start out like: “Does this piss you off too?”. Then I’d go on from there, but only ranting on one topic and making it quick. Usually people would agree with me. Whether they did or didn’t, a conversation of some sort would usually ensue.

This his how I viewed it, I was being  friendly to another human by striking up a conversation, and at the same time I was able vent off something that had been bothering me.

I don’t vent much on people directly anymore, I don’t need to.

I have “The Rant” now and I have the ability to immediately write about something that bothers me or moves me, impresses me or depresses, stimulates my brain or leaves me writhing in pain, touches my soul or leaves me down in a hole.

I can release it in word format, then after I’ve heard a group opinion on the subject…Be done with it and “Keep on Truckin”.

“You got to keep on rolling while you can, eventually we all run out of hill” Official Ranter Quote.

The Rockpile part of the blog name is simpler. I usually purchase Rockpile tickets, see that’s pretty simple.

Here’s how this all ties in together:

It was the third week in September 2007 and the Rockies were “HOT”, and still not getting any National love or attention. This really frustrated me and some other fans that I know.

It was at that point I knew I had to do something.  I didn’t know exactly what or how, but I felt somehow I had to get The Rockies some National love.

Fast forward to Rockies Spring Training 2008.

When I was in Tucson for spring training last year I only had five days off. Two of those days were spent driving there and back. When I arrived in Tucson I managed to catch one practice, but it was only the AAA players. I saw two games in two days both of them at Hi Corbett Field. Rockies won one and lost one.

Remember now, this was the spring training after the Rockies had made it to the World Series.

I guess I thought that right after a World Series appearance spring training games would be sold out. This was not the case at all, both games had more empty seats than not.

I sat there in my nearly empty row and couldn’t believe the Rockies had done so much, and went so far and still were getting minimal fan love and National exposure.

As I pondered what to do on that sunny afternoon in March wearing my newly purchased big green floppy hat (it was recommended to me by a local for sun block), and my previously purchased Todd Helton World Series jersey an idea popped into my head.

I had previously been interested in starting a blog about my own daily rants, so I thought to myself, why not write a blog about the Rockies and incorporate my “attitude” into it.

I needed a name. A name that represented me and my team. I tossed around blogs name for the entire drive back to Denver with no luck.

Zack H-1.jpgFor a few years I had been a regular reader of Zack Hample’s blog “The Baseball Collector” (still am). This dudes obsessed with snagging baseballs at batting practice and catching live game baseballs.

Anyways I was tired of reading about his success and I had decided after we lost the World Series that I would try to arrive early for batting practice. I snagged a baseball at my first batting practice and now I NEVER miss it. To me it’s as much a part of the game as eating peanuts, the seventh inning stretch, or standing in line to take a whiz.

I experimented with a couple of blogging formats before I came across MLBlogs.com.  I was sitting in front of my computer stuck at the point where I had to come up with a blog name for this blog. I started to think of the Rockies Rockpile and knew that word had to be part of it’s name.

A few of the blog names I tossed around were:

Rockpile Style, Rockpile Ralph, D’s Rockpile Report, DR-ockpile, Rock-n-Roll Pile, and A Rock-n-Pile. All of those names are winners in their own right, but didn’t quite convey the message I was trying to get out there.

Then I thought,”The Rockpile Rambler”, I dismissed that one because I’m more of a Ranter than a Rambler. Yeah, Rockpile Rant, I typed it in and have owned it and a few variations of it since.

Chapter 2: It’s up to you.

So now you know where I came from  and you already know where I’m heading. I’m going for number one spot. I don’t want to “OWN” it, I just want to feel it up a little bit…D
