I like it when a player sees his opportunity and takes it. I believe Stewart could/would have a f/t spot if we weren’t full. Remembering that spring training doesn’t mean sheet, I must say I like what’s happening.
I like to win. Having to watch the Rockies lose six games in Tucson sucked. I really wanted to see Helton play.
FSN and MLB.TV starts broadcasting the games on the 22nd so hopefully I’ll be able to witness a few wins before the season starts.
Anyways I won’t kid you, I’m digg’n this win streak.
Morales has improved a bit from his last outing.
Rockies beat the Angels today in Tempe 6-4. Rockies are now 6-7.
MLB TV launches tomorrow at 4pm MST.
This just in (sort of):
Tito got himself a job, and he’s going back to Cali, Cali Cali.
Nice job man, they’re lucky to have him. Strangest pitch in baseball right there. Good luck Brian.
Wow reality has set in, he’s gone. No more Phil Long or that Trice diamond place commercials on the radio. How long until those sponsors sign deals with the new coach?
Could you imagine Bill Cowher pitching diamonds? That’s funny right there.
Anyways, that seems to be the pattern around here. The sponsors grab them quick.
Did you know that Shanahan’s contract runs until 2011, and if he doesn’t take another job the Broncos would have to pay him close to 21 million?
Hmm, let me think about this,…7 million a year and I don’t have to work. I know what I’d do, but Mike is just crazy enough to go out and get a job right away.
Mike wants another Super Bowl ring. He’ll go with the team that has potential and that team will be fortunate to have him.
I’m hearing of a few names being tossed around out there as a possible replacments. The biggest one I’ve heard so far is Bill Cowher.
Bill might fit in nicely around Denver.
It probably wouldn’t take him long to get a feel for things around here 🙂
Another name out there is Scott Pioli.
In his seven seasons with the Patriots, Belichick and Pioli led the Patriots to three Super Bowl championships and five division titles.
I have also heard mention of Jim Fassel.
This guy was wants a head coaching posiiton so bad he wrote Al Davis a letter expressing interest in the head coach position for the Raiders.
I’d still like to see John Elway in there with the Broncos in some capacity. I’m sure with him being retired and all he doesn’t have his hands full.
It’s New Years Eve, do you have big plans?
The Rockies had to non-tender CF Willy Taveras, after figuring out they wouldn’t be able to trade “Speedy” before Fridays deadline for offering contracts to arbitration eligible players.
The Rockies were trying to swing a deal with Taveras and Juan Morillio going to the Nationals for pitcher Tim Redding, but the deal fell flat.
So Willy T is Free. Actually Redding is too for that matter. I tell you what, if “Speedy” could up his OBP just a wee bit, you might really have something there. You need to be on base to “steal ’em”.
Starting pitcher Jorge De La Rosa, and relievers Huston Street, Taylor Buchholz and Jason Grilli were tendered offers, along with Clint Barmes and Garrett Atkins.
Me, my head still hurts, but I’m on the upswing. Hunter and I are heading to the Nuggets game tonight.
I could possibly have a pair of backstage passes for us.
Third level seats tonight, but the backstage pictures should be cool.
I’m hoping to get Chauncey Billups, Balkman, and Birdman’s autograph tonight…D
I’ll be attending a special Dinner with the family on next Thursday.
It’s a dinner/get together, for the season ticket holders in the Pavilion at Coors Field.
<–(These are not Rockies season ticket holders, and will not be attending the dinner party).
This dinner/party doesn’t officially have a name yet, so I’ve been challenged to come up with one (Not much rhymes with pavilion).
It’s going to be a great time. Such a fun group of people.
A Mets fan, a Braves fan, a Yankees fan, and a Rockies fan are climbing up a mountian. On the way to the top, each is arguing about how loyal they are to their team and what they would do for that team.
Upon reaching the top, the Mets fan shouts, “This is for the Mets!!!” and throw’s himself off the top of the mountian. Next the Braves fan yells, “I love Atlanta”..This is for you Braves!!” and he too, jumps off. Finally when then the Rockies fan reaches the top he screams, “This is for EVERYONE!!” and pushes the Yankee fan off the mountian.
More when I get it…D

I guess if I had to see the Super Southpaw aka Tito totally fall apart, it’s best that it was a game that didn’t mean anything.
Rockies fought hard to tie things up.
Fuentes gave up a two run homer to to Stephen Drew with two out in the ninth.
That was it. Rockies lost 5-3. Great crowd last night.
Mylee was the only one of the three of us to snag a ball.
In fact, she snagged two. First time she outsnagged Hunter this year.
Here she is with the ball that Ubaldo Jimenez tossed her.
Thank you Ubaldo !
Here is a video of the Rockies tribute to the fans —->Tribute video
I’ll have a super size blog about the previous two games Up by this evening.
Right now Hunter and I are heading out to the last Rockies home game. It’s starting to hit me.
First in line today, second through the gate. We hauled butt to make it to the Pavilion first and right as we entered I was immediately chasing a ball hit to the section next to the one I was standing in.
I reached down to snag it and got beat by a larger man who had walked down five measly stairs to to out snag me.
Thank god I opted for those anger management classes.
So instead of making him the exact weight of a baseball heavier, I looked him back and said ” I should have brought some food, then I could have distracted you”
He didn’t like that too much. Probably about as much as I enjoyed his comment. It aint always pretty at BP here folks.
I did have one more opportunity to snag a ball, but it went a little farther than I anticipated and tipped off of my glove on a rebound off of the bleachers. Totally my bad on that one.
I looked over and saw Hunter and Mylee giving it their best.
Hunter was doing a little better than me (as usual).
He managed to snag four today. Mylee and I had to bow to his greatness.
We figured since it was a small crowd today we would head over to the Rockies dugout and try to get an autograph.
As soon as we got there Brian Fuentes was signing.
I always kind of bust on him because he has that glaring stare that can mess you up.
But as he was standing in front of me signing our stuff, he seemed friendly and really cool. He was talking to the fans, making jokes. He was totally relaxed, and he should be.
He’s the “Super Southpaw”
We were lucky enough to get Chris Iannetta to sign for us too.
He worked his way through the crowd, head down and didn’t say much. No worries.
Thanks for the autographs Chris !
A few minutes later we saw Clint Hurdle and Pitching Coach Bob Apodaca out signing.
Maybe Bob should go one size bigger on those pants.
Next up, Garrett Atkins.
A nice shot Alana, my favorite FSN employee.
This Blog entry will be continued and finished in the Morning..Some serious pictures to come..
Ok, I had a great sleep. Got all my stuff ready for the game today (Sunday) and here we go with the rest of this entry.
It’s time for a picture show.
The dragon slayer Josh Fogg and Jeremy Affeldt were presented with their overdue 2007 National League Richampionship rings during a ceremony before the game.
Here is Barmes
Next up Chris Iannetta and Ian Stewart signing autographs Ian Stewart stretchng before the game Tulo and Stewart
Playing Catch One shot of the Reds having fun Garrett Atkins stretching Willy Taveras telling a Story
I didn’t get to stay for the whole game because I had a softball commitment. My team is called “The Greatest Softball Team in the History of Mankind” and we suck.
We got killed by like ten runs but I really like playing with this group of people I work with.
We have a good time.
Rockies lost this game 8-5. Hernandez straight up admitted he pitched like crap. I’m for giving a guy a few chances but it’s time for Livian to step up or keep stepping.
Heading out the door in a couple hours. Lets see how the day unfolds.
B, Hunter and I will be at the game today..Cookie is on the mound so I think we’ll be ok.
Brian Fuentes (Super Southpaw), congratulations on becoming the Rockies All Time Save Leader with 103. The previous holder of that record was Jose Jimenez in 2000-01.
Brian has been on fire and has eighteen saves this year. Too bad the Rockies will probably trade him.
KEEP HIM, at least this season. He’s winning and if he keeps winning it’s not like he’ll be worth any less next season..Right?
Chris Iannetta was amazing tonight and helped the Rockies avoid a sweep in their 7-4 win over the Pirates.
Chris hit a two out three run humer in the fifth.
You could say that was the game winning hit. That gives him twelve home runs for the season.
Troy Tulowitzki continues to improve. Tulo had three hits tonight and his fielding was great as usual..
So far on this ten game road trip the Rockies are 4-2. We need to win these next three games.
Next on the list…The Marlins from the state that looks like a dangling participle
Jeff has hit .333 this month and has earned himself a permanant spot at second base. Heres a recent quote from Jeff:
“It’s just fun playing, it’s fun coming in and seeing your name on the lineup and knowing you’re going to go out there and get more (at-bats) to help your team win that day.”
So this opens up the question.
What to do with Clint Barmes? Clint has been great this year.
Hurdle is considering possibly using him in an outfield position.
Do it Barmes.
Take whatvever job they offer you.
Shoot, tell them you’ll be the flippin batboy as long as you can stay part of this team. A job is a job, catching a ball is catching a ball. At the end of the month the morgage is due brotha..Good Job, you at least deserve a spot in this lineup.
Coors Field was the place today for the Rockies vs Dodgers. This was game three of a split set.
Rockies won today 5-3.
We nailed this series.
I love beating the Dodgers. Mostly because I hate losing to them. Dam, that sounds like something Yogi would say.
Glendon Rusch gets the win today allowing three runs on seven hits in a respectable five inning outing.
Ian Stewart has continued his hitting streak and now has hits in five games. He went two for three today.
Brian Fuentes now holds the record for consecutive batters retired at twenty three. The old record was held by Tim Harikkala. Congrats Tito..you sneaky southpaw
The Rockies went six and one in this last homestand and are now 6.5 games behind the D-Backs for first in the Divison.
Lets carry this momentum into the upcoming Road Trip.
We still have plenty of time and were gaining ground quick in this Division.
