Rockies didn't pick it, so how do I get a ticket?

Alternate titles for this entry were: Oh The Pain as I'm Dissed Again and I'd Stand in Line but I'd be Wasting my Time.

It's amazing how quickly things can change in this little town of Nederland. I filmed some video yesterday for my last entry of the surrounding mountains and there wasn't a speck of snow.

Today is officially the last day of summer. This is our front deck.Thumbnail image for IMG_3915.JPG

Time to play in the snow.IMG_3911.JPG

I have a feeling it's going to be a long wet winter. My kids wont mind, they don't have to drive into the city every day.  IMG_3876.JPG                                          Hunter chill'n in the snowstorm. IMG_3885.JPG                                  Don't get me wrong I'm not bitch'n, it's worth it :)

HOWEVER, I do have a one thing in particular I'd like to mention. I received an email from the Rockies today and I wasn't happy about it. Instead of me explaining it I'll just let you read it.

Dear Rockies Fan,

Recently you registered at coloradorockies.com for the opportunity to purchase 2009 Division Series tickets for games to be played at Coors Field. Unfortunately, your entry was not selected.

If you also registered for the Ticket Opportunity for the potential National League Championship Series and World Series games, you are still eligible to be selected and do not need to register again. The dates and times for the email notification for those Opportunities is posted on our website or can be found here.

Thank you for participating in the 2009 Postseason Ticket Opportunity.

OK Rockies ticket people, just so I'm sure..Is this the only chance I have at Division tickets?

I mean I remember back in 2007 and the Rockies totally dropped the ball with the World Series ticket sales. Instead of holding back a few thousand tickets for the LOYAL fans who were willing to camp out for the chance to witness the Rockies in the World Series, they let all of the available tickets go on sale to the entire country at the same time online.

With that swift move they managed to piss-off a lot of loyal Rockies fans and fill Coors Field with more Red Sox fans than Rockies fans. That could straight-up happen again.

I hate this. I hate that after attending over 40 games at Coors Field this season the only chance of me watching a post-season game live is by the luck of the draw.

I hate random drawings. random drawing.jpg Why does it have to be this way? How do I know the drawing isn't just two dudes and a bucket who say Fu*k it?

Here's a thought...When the Rockies make it to the post-season lets save the Rockpile section for residents of Colorado only. Sure the Rockpile may leave a lot to be desired. But I'd be ok with a Rockpile ticket to the World Series..Wouldn't you?

C'mon Rockies Ticket people, don't let bad history repeat itself. Don't ignore the non-season ticket holder Rockies fans this time.

Explain to me why you can't just set aside a few thousand tickets for the local fans. Wouldn't you rather have us inside Coors Field?

I care and I just wanna be there...DGreen Floppy Hat.JPG

Good luck with your tickets.
Snow already!? ;P It's 70 or so in Ohio, but our time will come with winter. Good luck with the Rockies and nice post!

Hey D,
Yeah, I didn't get selected either, sigh. But, on the other hand how cool will it be for the team to make the play-offs! So I'm trying not to think about not being able to attend but thinking about how cool it will be to be in the post-season this year. Go Rockies. (Luv the snowballs)

Hiya D,

I got the same email, blah! We shall see what happens with the future drawings for the potential NLCS or World Series. Sorry I missed ya when I was in Denver. I caught a BP ball on the fly from Mark Reynolds and we got Tulo to sign a bat for us. Let's see if we can wrap up a playoff berth! Jim

Snow? WOW!! And the lottery system? The Red Sox use that at various times through out the year - for opening day tickets, etc...it's tough, but I guess it's a fair way. I hope you find someway to get tickets!

CLEVELAND-Thank you and snow rocks.
R-LUV-I have to be there R-LUV. Something will work out :).
JIM-Sorry I missed you to man. If I only get to see you once a season I better coordinate better next time. Congrats on the Tulo auto and Reynolds ball.
JULIA-It's only really fair if your name is drawn and you get a chance to buy tickets. If not then it seems unfair...D

I got that same email, ugh. But I have absolutely no doubt you will be there somehow, D. No doubt at all. :)

Cute pix of the kids. Looks like they're enjoying that snow.

Glad we ran into you Tues. night. We ended up leaving early. Too late (and wet and cold!) for a school night.

On a crappier note, Rox just lost the first series of the homestand to the freaking Padres. This is NOT what they need to be doing right now. UGH!

It's crazy. The Padres are hot, despite their lame duck status. You go back to one stretch and they had lost 8 series in a row going 5-19 over that stretch. Since that they have won 13 of 17 series going about 33-22 over that stretch. Fine time to be hot Padres, when it doesn't matter at all. They might have better luck next year, I guess.

Rockies seem to be fading a bit but I still highly doubt the Giants are going to close that 4 game gap. It would be impressive if they did but they're just not a complete enough package really this year.

Unlike the Giants, the Rockies have a pretty good mix of pitching, hitting, and flat out luck I think which is why they've turned things around and are looking at their 2nd playoff run in 3 years.

D,
The snow looks so pretty! I have never driven in the snow. Is going to be interesting playoff games there.
.
You should try to hook up with a season ticket holder to purchase playoff tickets. That is what friends of mine did to get Dodger playoff tickets. keep calling also because not all season ticket holders purchase playoff tickets. I know some fellow season tix holders that cannot afford the prices.

More late innings magic for the Rockies thanks to Tulo. That guy's their good luck charm again this year I think.

Side note: Hunter in the blue Nuggets hoodie looks alot like Tyler.
