You see what I'm saying, these Rockies are playing

11/14/09                                Can you say Tornado siren!

The real reason we moved to the mountains is tornados don't like it up there.

Some crazy sheet going on at Coors Field yesterday.

Hunter snagged the first ball of batting practice. IMG_5024.JPG It was a toss up that almost hit me as I was focusing on trying to adjust the Rockies kids hat Hunter received as the promotional gift.

My hero of late...Mr. Don Baylor. When the Rockies were sucking people were quick to judge this man. Now it is time to give him some props.

Good Job and thank you DB.  IMG_5166.JPG

Vinny with his game face on. IMG_5054.JPG                                   Here's video of some of Dan's BP homer snags.

I think I'm done with trying to video myself catching baseballs at BP. First off I'm dropping more than I usually do as you can sort of tell in this video:

The other reason is I had another experience with an over zealous dad holding my arm to prevent me from catching a ball.

His said that he didn't have to move to catch the ball. But he actually moved at least a foot my direction after I had positioned myself to his left.

I told him my arm was up in the air and I was clearly not in his "personal space".

He looked at me like I was from Mars.

Another case of the batting practice newbie testing my "Anger managment skills" :)

My last comments to this chump were "Just remember who grabbed who's arm". I believe this "piece of work" still managed to get the ball. He obviously wanted it more than I did.

Now he can tell his friends he caught that ball by holding the Rockpile Ranter's arm. Now you know why my free hand will no longer be holding a camera when I'm snaggin.

Here's a shot of Dan almost snaggin one.

I have lots pictures and video of this game. I took some cool pictures of JR too. I'll finish this entry this afternoon...D

The weather around the country has been crazy for baseball so far this season.

Oh man. I SO wanted to be there!! Woulda been so much fun, even with the weather. So what did everyone do during the tornado warning? Cool vids. (Hey Dan!) Can't see the last one, though.

JULIA-Sure was and is.
LUVMYROX-We waited for a while then left. Too bad we did, it was only a 50 minute delay...D

Hey D,
The best part about how the team's been doing lately is seeing them play to their ability. It just seemed before this that they weren't really trying.
#11! Wow!

R-LUV-Couldn't agree with you more. The Rays will be a good test for the Rockies I figure...D

Dude. Tornadoes? I had no idea. I live in Texas and I've never seen one, and the last place I'd expect them would be Colorado. Ah, well.
FRICKING ELEVEN. Can you believe it?

holding an expensive piece of camera equipment while trying to catch small baseballs rocketed at you at speeds of over 50 miles per hour?? Yeah, doesn't sound like a great idea...

D,
You know they say that class doesn't come in a beer glass.
I hope that ball the guy got had PRACTICE all over the sweet spot on the ball.
I am a bit lucker than most because unless you have a ticket in our section, they will not let you down to the rail where I sit for the game.
But, kids do sneak down there while they are chasing others around the stadium. lol
I think you should write a small pamphlet to be given out at Rockies games on the art of ballhawking and the "fair ball" act.
Which is, if it is within my arm's length, it is mine, but I might give it to your kid.
