Rockies do their duty and the Pirates get no booty
Oh man, it sucks to be a Pirates fan tonight. But dont fret Pittsburgh , Rockies fans have been in your shoes numerous times this season. So we feel ya...But just not tonight.
Rockies sink the Pirates chances of breaking even this series with a triple set of wins at Coors field. As it looks right now, the Rockies show no signs of slowing down.
The game got started with Pirate Freddy Sanchez scoring off of a Ryan Doumit single.
Rockies got all fired up in the bottom of the first and managed to get Posednik, Baker, Hawpe, Torrealba, and Stewart all safely home.
Now thats playing like you got a pair.
Jorge De La Rosa was smooth and kept his stuff under control this evening. He allowed only one run and six hits in as many innings. Jorge had seven strikouts. He is now 4-5 for the season.
We all know this kid has "it" in him, he just needs to keep doing "it". Great job Jorge.
Herges took the wheel in the seventh, Vizcaino in the eighth, and Speier finished it off in the ninth for a particularilly pleasant pummelling of the Pirates. The final score was 7-1.
For all intensive purposes, the game was finished in the first inning.
<-----Unlike this strange unfinished building in North Korea.
The rest of the game was filler, and you know, I'm ok with that. The kids and I will be at the game tomorrow. It's autograph Sunday.
Props to Scott Posednik, he had four hits (ties his career high).
The Rockies are now 42-57 for the season....Could this be the beginning of a Rockies run??
Man, it would have to be like a Forest Gump run...seriously.
Ahh maybe not, we are after all in the National League West and only seven games back. Anything could happen right?
Rest and get well soon Todd Helton.
Go Rockies...D
