From First to Third…Sloppy is the Word
5-27-11
D-Backs vs Rockies Game 4
Weather: 65 degrees, partly cloudy.
Wind: 7 mph, Out to CF.
T: 2:57.
Att: 31,285
Rockies fans look at the month of May as a test. Instead of starting the season off from behind and playing catch up the Rockies changed things up this season. We started off with a bang, and now it seems were out of ammo and just chuck’n water balloons.
Rantics in attendance today were, Robert, Dan, Emily, Amy, Jersey Geoff and Mike The Rox Addict.
Those of us who really like Ubaldo can feel his pain. I need to see the old “Nasty Fasty” back in action.
A few game shots for you.
We did get to see Bruce Billings Major League Debut.
Here’s his first pitch. He threw for two innings. His ERA is now 4.5
For me the highlight of this game was seeing Eric Young Jr back.
Here’s another familiar face. Holliday didn’t even get to take a swing.
Robert showed up for the game today. Was good to see him. Robert has reduced the number of games he’s attending. He’s not happy with the Rockies organization at the moment. If you’ve got some time ask him he’ll tell you about it.
Mike the Rox Addict and I hung out beside the ROOT SPORTS desk post-game to show our support despite this third loss at home to the D-Backs of all teams. You can see the final embarassing final score in the background.
Something’s wrong. The Rockies don’t feel like the Rockies to me. I’ll blame part of it on the lack of fan love they’ve been showing.
Remember fellas the same fans you diss pre-game are the same ones showing up supporting this half-as-sed team as we painfully watch you try and get it together.
Respect your fans and they’ll always support you and always remember where you came from.
Colorado Springs is only an hour away
Rockies fan but not standing nearly as tall as I used to.

Rockies Lose…Somebody Light that Fuse
5-25-11
D-Backs vs Rockies Game 3 of 4

Another Rockies loss at home. Just like the rain and the last month of crappy weather, I’ve had enough of that. ROCKIES…Somebody step and be that guy. We need one Rockies player to grab a big ‘ole book of matches and start lighting fuses under each of these Rockies a-sses.
It’s painful to watch. It’s even more painful if you paid to watch it.
I took about 800 pictures at this game but due to upload limitations and the fact this game was a loss I’ll have to cut it short.
Rantics in attendance today were Joy and Jim, Geoff, Dan, Emily, Douglas, Mike, Amy and yours truly.
I like Amezaga, he’s one of the few Rockies this season that will sign autographs on the wall.
I’m not sure what happened but Joy has been bringing her Chris Iannetta bat to every game she’s attended and the bat remains unsigned…Rockies what happened to the autograph luv on the wall?
15 days…Wishful thinking. He was having such a good season too.
Here’s the final score. I’m curious to know how many games the Rockies have lost this season by one game?
C,mon Rockies, give the fellas a good win streak to talk about.
I’m “D” The Rockpile Ranter and if needed I’ve got matches.
Pay to Blog…That’s Low Dawg
5/17/2011
The Channel 9 Science Fair was going on. There were big smoke rings.
And little smoke rings and lots of kids.
Here’s Tom, one of the nicest Rockies fans you’ll ever meet.
Gary and Alannah to the power of X
Here’s LUVMYROX and her daughter.
Hosers a hosing.
Here’s The Duece’s home run pictures series.
It looks good.
The ball is coming in, check out Dan in the top of the picture in the blue Expos jersey.
The ball bounces right in front of this guy.
The dude quickly snaps it up. Now that I have to pay to upload pictures if anybody knows this guy tell him I have a helluva picture of him for sale

Giant’s Sanchez hits one foul.
Older fella realizes this is his ball.
He makes the dive for it.
Just like a baseball snagg’n stud he’s victorious, get that dude a beer or maybe a stretcher.
Here’s Hawaii Bob busting another fan smuggling booze inside of Coors Field. When will they learn?
Cargo has one sweet swing.
Wiggy gett’n jiggy on first base.
Here’s Homeboy Helmer doing his post game desk climb. Often imitated but never duplicated.
The Cowboy signing a Cowboy hat, there’s something just right about that.
The Rockies faithful showing up post-game to celebrate the Rockies sweep of the World Champion Giants.
The best part of this game was the eighth inning. Rockies come from behind to take this game two.
Looks like I’m going to have to pay to blog from here forward. As you can tell from the compressed and reduced quality pictures in this entry, MLBlogs has switched to a WordPress blog format. It’s cool in some aspects but I’m not digg’n the part where I have to pay. I put a lot of money and time into my blog already and coughing up more dough for a fan blog doesn’t sit well with me. Also the fact that MLBlogs neglected to mention that we would have to pay until after the fact was a total cop out.
MLBlogs, I brought you over 600000 hits in just 2.5 years, thanks for nothing.
I guess their reasoning was that the picture limit would only be a problem for a few select blogs. The Rockpile Rant just happen to be one of them. Also somewhere in the blogosphere are about 70-80 of my missing blog entries.
I’ll figure this out. I’m still the Rockies #1 and I’m still having fun.
Rantics feel free to vent your feelings. I’d love to hear them.
Go Rockies…”D”

A TeePee and a Sore Knee
Mets vs Rockies
Weather: 71 degrees, cloudy.
Wind: 9 mph, Out to CF.
T: 2:35 (:50 delay) for rain and hail
Att: 31,007.
Back at Coors after a not so great road trip.
The sky was ugly but it was warm. I’ll take warm anytime. Batting practice was better than usual for me today and I snagged three ground rule doubles. The first one I’m pretty sure was from Chris Iannetta and as it bounced into the first row I barehanded it.
The second bounced over Robert and Geoff”s head and I had a better spot in the tunnel which put me there first.
The third was a really nice catch off the bounce. All three were given away.
Today I discovered a “Purple Margarita”![]()
It’s not often I drink something purple but I’ll admit it was pretty good.
Rockies were down two nothing in the second until “The Duece let loose with the juice”
![]()
Tulo hits a beauty off of Pelfrey.
The Right field crowd realizing the baseball is headed their way.
If you look closely in-between the railing you can see Tulo’s homer.
Then the mad scramble for it.
All you can see here is a hand with a watch holding a ball.
In reality the dude with the black shirt and black hat snagged the ball and his little girl is holding it.![]()
Not long after Seth Smith does the same thing.![]()
You can see Smith’s homerun ball top of the picture in the middle.![]()
All I can say is if that was my wiener I’d be treating it a little better…Can you say condiments?![]()
But totally bobbles the second one…They boo-ed him…LOL![]()
The Coors Field “Crack of the Game”.![]()
-CCCCCHHHHHH
Not to be outdone Cargo gets his first homerun at Coors this year in the sixth inning.![]()
![]()
You can see Cargo’s homerun just above the yellow line on the right side. On the left side of this picture you can see Douglas cheering.![]()
In the seventh inning with Dexter Fowler at bat the game gets delayed for rain and depending on where you were sitting…hail.![]()
Out comes the tarp. Notice there are eight guys in the picture.![]()
Here’s the dude just before he gets completely covered.![]()
The groundkeeper stuck here under the tarp looks like a Teepee. Guys remind you of anything in the morning?
Here he is making his exit to a cheering crowd.![]()
![]()
After fifty minutes they removed the sand bags, folded up the tarp and Dexter Fowler was back up to bat. ![]()
Dexter fouled one off his knee and goes down quick.
![]()
Dexter exited the game and Ryan Spilborghs took his spot.

Here are some random pics.
Jon Herrera daring someone to cross this line.![]()

I call this set of pictures:
“Hawaii Bob doin his Job”
“Excuse me sir may I see your tickets?”
![]()
“Sir these are Rockpile tickets. You’re sitting in the wrong section”![]()
Hawaii Bob gives them the boot and sends them on their way with a smile.
Ian Stewart broken bat series.![]()

Cheers to you Jersey Geoff.
Best jacket of the game
Mets take this one 4-3. I hate losing to the Mets at home.![]()
Mike…The Rox Addict standing tall in the Homeboy Hangout.![]()
Mark, Tracy and Tom Post Game.![]()
Other than Mike, Robert and I, these were really the only other Rockies fans hanging out after this loss.![]()
That got us a little TV time. Thank you Joy for sending me this.
The first time I’ve ever heard the words Rockpile Ranter uttered on Television and it’s followed by the Cowboy saying I’ve got fleas and Tom saying I’ve got ants in my pants.
No worries, you get what you get when you’re a white boy and you shake your groove thing on TV.
You can expect a different dance now every time the Rockies lose and Mike and I are there postgame
Cheer on your Rockies, believe me you don’t wanna see us dance.
I’m “D” The Rockpile Ranter and this is the purple mohawk dude.
We both agree, it’s time for the Rockies to get a grip and stop this slip….D
