Rockies Take Game One, I Miss The Fun
4/9/10
Here was my view of the first pitch of the first home game at Coors Field in 2010.
In order to to be able to purchase opening day Rockies tickets you had to enter your email address into a drawing. My email was actually chosen but midway through the purchase I wanted to change the amount of tickets I was going to purchase and when I re-entered my “Special Code” it said the code was no good.
It upset me so I said “F’ck it”
Mistake, I should have been there. I felt it all day. Everyone at work was like “What are you doing here, shouldn’t you be downtown?”
All I can say is it won’t happen again, althought it seems the Rockies did just fine without me.
Excellent game one of this series. I loved the fact that Clint Barmes hits a three run homer in the first home game of 2010.
Clint has a knack for things like that.
I believe that’s just a small sampling of what we’ll see from Barmes this season.
Jorge De La Rosa was amazing. As long as he stays healthy he’s gonna own the National League.![]()
I’m getting my stuff together now, I’ll be there tomorrow with Hunter,… Second row pavilion.
Smack dab in home run territory…Go Rockies

Missed you today, friend. It just didn’t seem right that the RPR wasn’t at Opening Day! It was a lot of fun and a great win. I wish we were going to be there the rest of the weekend!
Hey Don, if it makes you feel any better, the weather was horrible, the pitching was atrocious, and the hitting was absolutely pathetic.
Joy and Dan…Thanks

Hey D,
That’s a drag that you couldn’t make the Home Opener. I wish they would fine tune the ticket lottery. I came close to having the same thing happen to me when I got selected for post-season tickets. Tal about sweating bullets.
Got to chat with Greg Smith at Sunday’s game. Really nice guy. Looking forward to good things from him.
Hopefully you and I will manage to go to the same game sometime this season.
