Beat by blue, bring on game two

4/25/09

Its 5am and I’m getting stuff ready for my yard sale. As I type it is sprinkling out. As much as is sucks losing to the Dodgers at home (I hate losing to the Dodgers) I had fun and met a couple of fellow bloggers.

I didn’t get to socialize with them as it was during batting practice and I don’t talk too much durring BP.

Here is Emily, creator and writer of the Blog I Live for This and Tom Walsh, creator and writer of Rocky Mountain Way…Outside Coors looking in.

Both Rockies blogs and both excellent ones.

Batting practice was quite slow. I think maybe 10 BP homeruns were hit total. I snagged a toss up from Spilborghs which I gave to a kid behind me and I snagged another on the fly from Dodgers # 14 Juan Castro. I gave that ball to Emily.

I don’t have time to do a monster blog but I took some pretty cool pictures last night. I was lucky yesterday and Dan hooked me up with “Row 1″ seats (Thanks Dan). I was about as far left in the Pavilion as you can go. Excellent home run seats.

Nothing was hit in my direction.

Here is a shot of the field from my seat.

More pictures on this entry when I can. I’ll leave you with one of Helton and one of Manny.Helton ball 4-24-09.jpg

Good luck with the yard sale and it’s great that you got to meet Tom & Emily!

Good luck with the yard sale! I always hated those because people that I don’t know walking through my house bugs me. Of course, “yard sale” might actually mean “in the yard” in CO.
Great pictures!

I thought it was a great game (except for the loss!) as well. We had a great time. Saw you during BP. I’ll be there again tonight with one of my kiddos, and hoping for no rain!

Hope your sale goes well. It’s a cold day for that!

Wow the trio of writing Rockies.
Great to see Tommy and Emily chilling at the games.
I have a theory that in April, with the air not dense with humidity, you get less balls going high and out of the yard unless hit perfectly on the sweet spot.
I know that works for locals with high temps and humidity swings, but I am unfamiliar with Coors Field’s barometic pressure situations.
The balls will come, we all know that.
Hope the Garage Sale is a huge success, and you get more than you dreamed of for your sales items.

hey D, I’ll be at the game tomorrow. If I see you, I’ll be sure to say hello. It’s autograph Sunday, though, so I might not make it out towards the pavillion. Hagg’n starts tomorrow for me!

ALEX-I’ll be going for a few autographs myself, see you there.
RAYSREN-That was cool meeting Tom and Emily. I looked to chat with them later(I don’t talk too much during BP) but couldn’t find them .
LUVMYROX-It was really cool to meet you. I have to tell you that I was feeling a tad ill yesterday, and I apoligize for not being a little more social and taking your picture. I owe you a snagged baseball, I bobbled the one I was going to give you.
KYLIE-I’m with you on the yard sale. I hate people going through your stuff, but most of it is usable and I hate to throw it away.
JULIA-Thanks, it was very cool.

Getting baseballs is tough for those of us that only want to catch them and not ask or use a device! Keep up the good work and keep taking all the grat pictures! I have grabbed 8 balls this week and 7 are of the hit variety. Only 1 was thrown! I did however get a few cool autographs!

I used to live a few blocks from Coors Field in the Ballpark Lofts, and definitely miss games at that stadium. I am glad to hear that you’re having a good time so far this season. I am not sure how the Dodgers are doing it with that pitching staff, but I suspect they’ll come back to earth soon. Enjoy!
