Sorry pug12.jpgSorry, no Ricky Henderson story from me. It’s been done.

That’s the thing about sports blogging. Most bloggers are blogging about the same story. Not that that’s bad, it’s just gets boring after you’ve read basically the same thing six times.

When everyone else is talking about one thing, I’m usually on a totally different subject. I’ve never been a good follower. What can I say I’m former Army and a Leo.

I’m debating taking a break from blogging, not because I’m mad at anything or anyone, but because as I said I’m getting bored.

I prefer blogging about live games or events that I’ve attended. I’ve got 44 days until I get to see a live baseball game. Blogging about a game I’ve just watched live is what I do, the rest is just pre/post season filler.

same old same old.jpgAll blogs are starting to look the same to me. It’s time for me to re-invent what the standard of my own personal blogging is. I don’t like to be bored.

Ok, who am I kidding, I’m just freggin going squirrely, I want warm weather and baseball, but instead I’ve got cold weather and snowballs.

mouth-full-of-cigarettes.jpgA cigarette would fix everything, naa I’m not going there.

Yes, I’m still not smoking, and f*ck the world right now.

I wasn’t kidding about re-inventing my own blogging. I wonder how many of you that blog here have full-time day or night jobs?

How many have all day to blog? I’ll give a shout out to all the bloggers here who work their butt off at their day job, then come home and write a respectable blog. That takes dedication, and sacrifice of sleep. You folks are the true heros.

Authors and Bloggers are not really the same breed. The best blogs on MLBLogs.com are from the bloggers who are not professional writers (excluding Mark Newman and Zack).

Reality.JPGTo me blogging is reality at times, and most “professional writers” don’t have a feel for what it’s like to write in “Real Time”, because once you write that first book, you lose your perception of what being “Real” is.

All of a sudden in your mind your an Author not a writer anymore.

You don’t have to agree with me as long as you feel where I’m coming from.

If you don’t feel where I’m coming from your either an author, don’t have a job outside the house, or you don’t have any original ideas and you snag your ideas from others blogs.

It seems some write their blogs in hopes of making the cover, following the topic of the
paparazzi.jpgday like paparazzi. Sorry, you may have gotten my click, but you didn’t get my attention

I realize that sometimes the topic of the day deserves to be mentioned, so do that,…. just mention it. You can be so much more.

My mind is churning, thinking, pondering, summizing, figuring, comtemplating, deciding, tossing around new ideas to make the blogging experience more interesting. I’m sorry but sometimes its seems this place doesn’t move fast enough for me.

I think the whole standard by which we blog needs to be improved. Do not mistake this Rant for a slam on MLBlogs.com, it’s not. This is a slam on blogging as a whole.  What’s the next step in the blogging evolutionary ladder? Can we please go there now?

Remember, opinions are like azzholes, every one has one some just spout out a little more.

I’m never the only one who thinks like I do, step up.

Tell me what the F*ck do you think? Got an entry you’ve written that isn’t the topic of the day? Send me a link, I’d love to read it…

Otherwise don’t waste my time. I only have so much. Keep it real..Day 4…DThumbnail image for Thumbnail image for Thumbnail image for Thumbnail image for Thumbnail image for Thumbnail image for Thumbnail image for Thumbnail image for Thumbnail image for Thumbnail image for Thumbnail image for Thumbnail image for Green Floppy Ha

P.S. Don’t ever correct me on spelling, if you see a word spelled a certain way in my blog…It’s because I meant to spell it that way. Get a life !!!

Hey D,
Aaaaaah, a fellow Leo, no wonder I like the way you think.
The thing I like about your blog is that you write about baseball related stuff that’s not what’s obvious. I think the MLB blog awards idea will get bloggers to up their game.
Awesome on still being smoke free. Hang in there man, it is sooooo worth it. Food tastes better, you can smell better and breathing, yeah, breathing is definitely better.
Congrats on moving up in the rankings (I think you were changing your entry when I tried posting a little while ago). It doesn’t come as a surprise.

(Is that Bronco or Elway in the Batman costume?)

Thanks R-LUV, # 8 is great. I appreciate you and everyone else’s support all year. I know you’ve been following the Rant for a while. The pug pictured is not my pug. I just saw the picture and had to find a way to use it. As far as smoking, I’m sure all will be peachy in a few months, but RPR is in a world of hurt right now. No worries, I won’t cave this time…D

I dig your style, RR. That’s what it’s all about: Have an opinion and don’t waver from it. That’s how Ann Coulter got so famous… and O’Reilly too. Anyway, there’s always something to write about… and the key is to write about something from a unique angle. Want to write about Rickey? Do it in a way that no one else can. Gotta be unique. That’s the RSBS way.

PS, I know how Leos are. I’ve dated five of them. LOOKOUT!

Hey D — I’m a Taurus – does that explain a lot about me? And I hear what you’re saying about blogging. Trust me, I am NOT a professional writer – I just run with what I feel. Congrats on the #8 – see, even we East Coasters love the Rockies! And hey – I didn’t write about Rickey – I wrote about how Jim Rice saved the life of a little 4 year-old boy.

JEFF-Thanks, I appreciate that from RSBS. I agree you said it perfect, “do it in a way that no one else can”. You sir are # 1 for a reason, Congrats.
JULIA-You’re on my sidebar, you don’t have to expain anything to me girl..Congrats on # 4, you worked hard for that , great job…D

Technically, I don’t have a “job” but school unfortunately takes up the majority of my day. Although I’d much rather be blogging. You raise some interesting points… blogging is just incorporating your own points to the topic of the day. On slow news days, sometimes I write about random stuff, like my first time at Fenway Park (http://redsoxgirl46.mlblogs.com/archives/2008/11/my_first_game_at_fenway.html) wow that’s long! Or maybe why we love baseball (http://redsoxgirl46.mlblogs.com/archives/2008/11/why_we_love_baseball.html)

Both of you check my sidebar links, you’ve made the big time now..Just kidding…Keep up the great work both of you…D

Great idea’s on blogging. Thanks for that. I’m very new to this and your idea’s on branching out past the “news of the day” I’ll try to take to heart. This is the first time I’ve read your stuff…..it won’t be the last.

Thanks again

CHRIS-Welcome to the Rant, I look at my own blog as the equivalent of a Seinfield episode. It’s a blog about nothing or something (especially in the off-season). You just need to tune in to find out which way I may be rolling that day…I’ll be checking out your blog brotha…D
