Think you can you best my test ?

11/22/08

I’ve always enjoyed reading about history (when I have time). Lately I’ve been on a baseballHistoryBuff.jpg history kick. If you read this blog you know every now and then I pop in a few trivia teasers.

Today I’m going to kick it up a few notches. I’ts going to to be a little more challenging. If you can nail this, there will be a sweet reward for your hard work.

The first person that can correctly answer all the questions, and email the answers to therockpileranter@yahoo.com, wins.

<——You will receive this autographed Ryan Spilborghs baseball. Please do not post answers in the comments section, although you can ask questions there.

Also, post a comment informing me you have the answers before you email them to me. That way we have a visable timestamp.

This baseball was autographed in front of me, for me, by Ryan.

I’ll throw in a cube too, because I’m cool like that.

Here link to the blog entry from June 22, 2008, the day I got this ball autographed:

That quiz is tough. I only know #4 off the top of my head. Although Major League Baseball says “No one player has ever been identified as the model of the 1969 Major League Baseball batter logo.” Despite what they say I know who you are talking about.

Sup HB, you didn’t think I’d make this easy for a Spilly ball did you?…D

Stop your researching. I have a winner already. Alex Ferguson sent me these answers at 2:31 pm MST.

Ok, so here is the answer for your contest.
1: They all had multiple seasons with 100+ base hits, but only Todd Helton did it in consecutive seasons for the Rockies

2: I believe it was Bernie Williams of the New York Yankees.

3: Nice choice of the players who didn’t once win a batting title, but I believe the answer is Leon Allen Goslin (Goose) with 1 batting title for the Washington Senators in 1928.

4: MLB insisted that nobody is the logo, but story has it that it is Harmon Killebrew of the Minnesota Twins.

5: Jack Graney in 1932 for the Cleveland Indians

6: The tallest second baseman ever is Dick Hall at 6’6” for the Pittsburgh Pirates. The tallest second baseman to play an entire season was George Kelly at 6’4” for the New York Giants.
Alex.
The dude nailed them all. Congrats Alex..Was it hard? Too easy?..Give some details brotha…D

It was hard and easy on some parts. Like HardBallBlog I knew the Harmon Killebrew thing of the top of my head. I thought it was Bernie, also. I’d say it was about a 7. Joe I’m also Yankee fan, hope to see you next season. I’m also kinda a baseball collector also…1,765 MLB autographs and 1,983 Proffesional Baseball autographs.

Alex
